2023 was another busy year for Canberra City Lions with over $35,000 in Service returned to our local, regional, national, and international communities. Again, the Club’s focus was on supporting disabled and disadvantaged youth in our local community and supporting national and international disaster relief for the victims of bushfires, flooding, storms, earthquakes, and volcano eruptions.
After a big year of service, Canberra City Lions got together to celebrate a job well done. Our end-of-year BBQ celebration was held at the Lions Youth Haven community hall BBQ area, and everyone had a great afternoon and evening.
The BBQ was our last meeting for the 2023 year; however, the Club will continue giving service over the holiday break with sales of Lions Cakes at the Canberra Outlet Centre in Fyshwick until 24 December, a sausage sizzle at Fyshwick on Friday 15 December, and support to St Vinnie’s Roadhouse Christmas Dinner for the homeless and destitute on Thursday 21 December.
After the break, our first meeting in 2024 will be on Monday 5 February at the Eastlake Football Club in Griffith. We will meet for dinner in the Bistro at 6:00pm and then move to an upstairs meeting room at 7:00pm.
We would love for you to join us for dinner and to see the service we have planned for the new year.
